Chester Racecourse Today

Although the Chester Racecourse is one of the shortest at 1.6km long, it remains in popular use, and its location at the heart of the city of Chester makes it a hotspot for visitors.

A number of restaurants and bars are located nearby and the racecourse has been used as a venue for several musical acts to perform at, including Westlife, Iggy Pop and The Saturdays. Other famous visitors include Prince William, who played polo there in 2013, and Queen Elizabeth II, who adored horse racing and claimed 1600 victories throughout her life.

Chester’s main races continue to be televised nationally each year.

Those who enrol onto our Chester course will be able to see this famous venue up close during our walking tour around the city.
