A National Treasure

Featuring paintings from a range of history’s most famous painters, including Cezanne, Degas, Rembrandt, Michelangelo and van Gogh, the National Gallery has been displaying thousands of paintings to the public for around two hundred years.

Neighbouring Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square at the heart of London, this government-owned gallery first opened its doors in 1824, and today it remains one of the most visited art museums in the world.
