Surrounded By Sound

Visiting Liverpool today, echoes of its musical prowess can be observed everywhere. True to the famous songs, you can take a stroll around Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields, or take a ferry across the Mersey (the terminal has recently been renamed after Gerry Marsden himself).

You can even stay in a unique boat hotel designed to look like the Yellow Submarine, or visit the infamous Cavern Club, a venue regarded worldwide as the birthplace of British pop, where the likes of the Rolling Stones have performed.

With so many legendary artists hailing from Liverpool, it is of little surprise that the city is the home of the Museum of Popular Music, and equally understandable why the city takes so much pride in its contribution to musical history.
