A Local Celebrity
Fairy Glen, near the pretty town of Betws-y-Coed, is an enchanting gem in the heart of Snowdonia. This secluded gorge boasts a beautiful 1.4km tree-lined walk alongside the Conwy River, with a number of waterfalls to gaze at and enjoy along the way. According to legend, fairy sprites live among the gorge, which is how it gets its name.
Another impressive set of waterfalls in the area are Swallow Falls. They sit along the River Llugwy, and can be reached on foot from Betws. These waterfalls have been attracting visitors for hundreds of years, and have sometimes been considered as a ‘local celebrity’ because of their popularity. They were even used during the filming of Wonder Woman 2.
